In collaboration with the Walgett Local Aboriginal Land Council, this project is centred on the implementation of 41 solar streetlights in Namoi and Gingie Reserves. The project was funded by the Department of Justice, UTS Jumbunna and supported by UTS Designing out Crime (DOC). The project aims to provide the functional benefits of street lighting through co-designed master planning and explores the capacity of urban infrastructure to enable safer and more comfortable use of outdoor spaces at night leading to reduced emergency services visitation and call-out times.
